The Author's Matrix

Before I start with The Author's Matrix let me introduce my self, my name is Ron Chapman and I'm one of the many authors in The Author's Matrix. Before turning The Author's Matrix into what it is now, it was suppose to be a way to showcase my book but after awhile, a few of my author friends asked if they could get in on it then it hit me like a light bulb turning on, "Why not do a blog post and showcase some of my author friends". It's my way of saying thank you to many of those who helped me to get where I am right now.
I've assembled a great group of world class authors from different parts of the world and all walks of genre.
In The Author's Matrix some of us are already published and under contract with a publisher while others are going at it alone and self publishing and then a few of us are still working hard to finish that book. None of that matters though because in The Author's Matrix we are ALL the same. We are all equal and striving for the same thing and that is to get the endless stories out of our heads and into your hands.
So with that said, I will now ask you to sit back, buckle up and enjoy the journey, the journey into our world. I give you... THE AUTHOR'S MATRIX!

Penning the Perfect Sunday

Penning the Perfect Sunday
With summer coming I thought I would put away the horror stories for a few seconds and dish out a little bit of frozen delight or a little bit of non - sense, depending on how you look at it or who you ask. Some might even say that this is time wasted when I could have been working on another book. Well... I needed a break from all the chaos running rampant in my head.
So, here I go, "Penning the Perfect Sunday", a comparison between writing a book and making a sunday ( you know, the hot fudge kind of sunday ).
Do you know that writing a book can be compared to constructing a sunday? Now before you say this is stupid and I'm full of shit, hear me out.
First I'll start with what goes into making a sunday then the comparison it has to writing a book.
First you'll need some type of bowl to put everything in. Sundays come in all sizes, so the size of the bowl depends on how big you want your sunday. A spoon to stuff it all into your mouth will be nice. Now comes the ice cream. There are a couple of ways of doing this, you can go the traditional route and use plain vanilla ice cream or you can be adventurous and use one or a few of the hundreds of already flavored ice creams.

How big your sunday is also depends on how much ice cream you put into your bowl; one scoop, two scoop, three scoop, four, you decide. Now comes the toppings and there's a wide variety to choose from. You have the traditional flavors; hot fudge, caramel, and strawberry but if you are the type to think out side of the bowl there is pineapple, raspberries, blueberries, Cherry's and peanut butter. The toppings are endless.
Okay, we have a bowl, spoon, some ice cream and toppings, now if you want to be real adventurous there is also the option of adding EXTRA toppings like; sprinkles, crushed cookies, M & M's, chocolate chips and brownies.
When you're satisfied with all the fixings for your sunday there is the whip cream, out of the can or tub, it doesn't matter. It's your sunday, so what ever you like, goes.
Alright, we now have a bowl, a spoon to eat the cocktail of heavenly goodness with, some ice cream, toppings, extra toppings and whip cream, now just one last thing to finish the sunday and that would be... a nice, red round cherry on top of the mountain of sinful delight.

       Now the comparison.
Your bowl in the writer's world would be a tablet of paper or a computer of some sorts. Just like putting in the amount of ice cream determines how big your sunday will be, how many words a writer puts into his book determines how big his book will be. The spoon to a writer would be a pen / pencil or a key board. The flavor toppings being put onto a sunday could be the genre of the book; horror, comedy, children's, erotic, romantic, adventure and so on. The whip cream and EXTRA toppings are the characteristics of his / her characters in the story. Now just like finishing off a sunday by putting a cherry on top, to a writer... his / her cherry on top is the book cover.
Now try building your own sunday and while you're at it, try penning your own perfect sunday.
That my friends is my comparison of making a sunday to writing a book. That what you get when a writer stops writing his books to write some non - sense.

A friend of mine asked me if I would take part in a blog tour that she was also doing. I said "sure". How could I say no. So... today is my turn at the blog tour so here I go.
      The blog tour is where writers and authors answer questions about their writing process. My friend Ryter Rong posted hers last week. You can check her writing process out at;
I just got my first book published with Imaginary Publishing. The title of my book is; Kringle, a twisted Christmas tale. It's a horror story with a little bit of Christmas cheer tossed in. If you like horror and Christmas, you'll like Kringle. It's got the best of both worlds then some. You can find it at; .The next story I'm working on is called Scarecrow, with a third book not too far behind called Twisted Madness and then a fourth book called Raggedy Ann which will probably be turned into two book.
Even though my books are of the horror genre, I try to push the boundaries of being twisted, demented and dark. I try to take my stories to another level of horror. I take things that are happy and joyful and turn them into dark and demented things that can only be found in my head.
Well... I've always loved horror ever since I was a kid. When I was a kid, I told my self that I wanted to write when I got older and write stories how I think they should be written. Now that I'm older, I'm in the position to do so starting with Kringle. Writing what I do is also my therapy. It's how I vent and pour my anger into.
Well lets see, I don't write a story from start to end. I usually start with the ending then the middle or beginning and then I let the other scenes of the book fall into place like a puzzle. I will take all kinds of notes and research first, putting everything on paper then when I think I'm done, I'll start to put it all together on the computer.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my turn at the blog tour

When I was a kid, I used to dream a lot, just like any other boy my age. I dreamed about many things, some of which I can't remember but there are three that stick out in my mind really well.

One of the dreams that comes to mind is that I always wanted to be a super hero with super strength and be able to fly. The second dream was to one day go to Walt Disney World with my family which at the time was my mom, dad and three sisters. The third dream that I can remember always having when I was a kid was to be a writer and write all kinds of stories.

Even though I am now 44 ( so says my wife. I still think she is wrong. ) I never did become a super hero with super strength or fly but in 2010 I did go to Walt Disney World. It wasn't with my mom, dad or sisters but I did take my wife and three sons. That was the BEST vacation ever. As of March 21, 2014 at 1am another long time dream came true. I became a published Author for Imaginary Publishing.
Cover artist; RYAN CHAPMAN
Cover model; RYTER RONG
Publisher; Heart Powered Publishing
Agent; FL HOPE ( FAITH )
I can't begin to describe how I felt when my publisher texted me and told me that Kringle had been released and then to hear my wife screaming and hollering for joy when I called her on my lunch break,
My point being... except for not being a super hero, dreams do come true. All you have to do is dream and don't just dream, dream big because the sky IS NOT the limit. And also, don't let anyone tell you no or tell you different because they are the sorry asses that wish they had followed their dream but didn't. They are the dream killers.
Remember though, that's all a dream will ever be is just a dream unless you wake up and make your dreams a reality. I did.

This is my world. You have been invited into it. So now, sit back and enjoy.
